Automation Overview

One of Amazon Seller Central's limitation is that it only offers you 2 layers for managing your PPC ads: campaigns and ad groups.
For you to continue participating in the Amazon ad auctions you need to keep monitoring each keyword, each ASIN target.

https://www.classic.zon.tools/blog/search-term-miners-are-now-using-best-bid-indicator/

We have updated the keyword and target Miners to use the calculated best bid according to your target ACoS for new keywords/targets from search terms. We will obey your parent (generator) keyword/target’s MIN and MAX bid thresholds. This will allow you to start the new mined keywords at the best bid from start to hit your target ACoS.Previously we were using average CPC of the search term as its bid.

Rules Parameters

Auto-Mate 3.0

AM 3.0 works on all Targets (PAT and EAT) and Keywords (all matches). Every 6 hours adjusts your bid based on your ACoS goals (Max ACoS), clicks (Min. Action Click) and spend (Max Spend).

The new bids are calculated based on:

  • Clicks
  • Sales
  • Max ACoS
  • Min Bid
  • Max Bid

3 conditions need to occur before AM 3.0 will take any action:

  1. When the keyword/target reaches Max Spend, without sales, then
  2. AM 3.0 will immediately drop its bid  and use the Min. Bid, regardless of the number of clicks it has.
  3. When the keyword/target reaches Min Action Clicks, without sales, then
AM 3.0 will immediately drop its bid and use the Min. Bid
  4. The keyword/target reaches Min Action Clicks, and there are sales, then
AM 3.0 will then look at the keyword ACoS compare it with Max ACoS and adjust bids as defined below:
  5. AM 3.0 calculates for the optimal bid for each entity (keyword /target) based on its conversion rate. The system will move toward the optimal bid with daily increments or decrements of 0% to 100% / day based on the assigned change rate (which you entered at PGN creation or when you are using Edit Rule configuration.
  6. AM 3.0 bid range uses the Min Bid as floor and Max Bid as ceiling.
  7. AM 3.0 will never Pause nor Enable your keywords or targets

Keyword Miner & Term-Inator

KWM and TI work every 6 hours and are triggered by:

  • Min Action Clicks               (for TI, KWM)
  • Max Spend                         (for TI)
  • Max ACoS                           (for TI, KWM)
  • Orders7                               (for KWM)
  • Relevancy Sales                 (for KWM)

2 conditions need to occur before KWM and TI before starts working:

  1. The CST reaches Max Spend without sales, then TI will negate regardless of the number of clicks the search term has.
  2. The CST reaches Min Action Clicks, then KWM will use your ACoS:
  3. When ACoS is above threshold, then TI will negate the search term
  4. When ACoS is below the threshold, and Orders7 equal or above Relevancy Trigger, then  KWM will mine the search term

How KWM mines:

  • Exact Campaign: Exact Match
  • Phrase Campaign: Phrase Match + Negative Exact — Search Term Isolation
  • Broad Campaign: Broad Match + Negative Phrase — Search Term Isolation

How TI negates:

  • Phrase Campaign: Negative Exact
  • Broad Campaign: Negative Exact
  • Auto Campaign: Negative Exact

Note:

  • The maximum amount of allowed words for a negative term is 4.
Any term longer than 4 words will be added as a negative keyword but truncated.
  • For Example:
Bad Performing Search Term: “silicon mat for baking cookies
Resulting Negative Keyword: “silicon mat for baking

Target Miner & ASIN-ator

TM and ASIN-ator work every 6 hours on 3 main triggers (thresholds):

  • Min Action Clicks
  • Max Spend
  • Max ACoS
  • Orders7
  • Relevancy Trigger (for TM)

TM and ASIN-ator will wait for one of the 2 conditions before starting working:

  1. The Target Search Term reaches Max Spend without sales,  then ASIN-ator will negate regardless of the number of clicks the search term has
  2. The Target Search Term reaches Min Action Clicks, then  TM and  will then look at ACoS:
  3. If ACoS is above threshold, then ASIN-ator will Negate the search term
  4. If ACoS is below the threshold and Orders7 equal or above Relevancy Trigger, then TM will Mine the search term

How TM mines

  • ASIN Ad Group (PAT Campaign): Add ASIN
  • Brand Ad Group (PAT Campaign): Negate ASIN
  • Category Ad Group (PAT Campaign): Negate ASIN

How ASIN-ator negates

  • Brand Ad Group (PAT Campaign): Negate ASIN
  • Category Ad Group (PAT Campaign): Negate ASIN
  • Auto Ad Group: Negate ASIN

Bid Gambler

Bid Gambler works on all (targets and keywords) once every 7 days on 3 main triggers (thresholds):

  • Clicks
  • Bid
  • 7 days after the latest bid change (whether manual or automated), we look at the Keyword’s last 6 month clicks.
If Clicks = ZERO –> change bid to: Old Bid + Change Rate assigned.
  • BG will deactivate itself when the first click is reached, and never run again for that Keyword or Target.
BG bid range is limited by “Max Bid
BG does NOT work on TEST ad groups (Legacy Automation)

Discontinued: LEGACY AUTOMATION

Acting only on Exact Keywords, only if “Legacy Exact Automation” toggle is on
